Welcome to our website on proposals for the Lluest y Gwynt Wind Farm, close to the village of Ponterwyd, east of Aberystwyth, Ceredigion.

We have been working with the local community and statutory consultees, for more than six years to bring forward proposals that deliver benefits for the local area, Welsh economy and the environment.

In July 2025, we submitted the planning application for Lluest y Gwynt Wind Farm to Planning and Environment Decisions Wales (PEDW). PEDW has now accepted the application and will now begin examining our proposals in detail, before making a recommendation to the Welsh Government.

Up to 12 wind turbines to generate clean, renewable electricity equivalent to the needs of around 33,000 homes - that's more than every home in Ceredigion's council area.
A cable route connection using spare capacity at the local grid connection at Statkraft’s Rheidol Hydro Power Plant, meaning the wind farm can begin making a meaningful contribution to decarbonising the energy network without waiting for wider National Grid infrastructure improvements.
Enhancing nature and biodiversity across the site, including bog and peatland restoration, alongside the creation of heathland, to support local wildlife.
Significant investment in the local community, including a Community Benefit Fund worth over a quarter of a million pounds for every year of operation, as well as an annual Skills Fund to support children and adults to pursue a career in STEM.
