About Statkraft

Statkraft is Europe’s largest renewable energy generator and a global company in energy market operations. Since 2006, Statkraft has been at the heart of the UK’s energy transition, building experience across wind, solar, hydro, storage, grid stability, EV charging, green hydrogen, and a thriving markets business. Statkraft operates four onshore wind farms across the UK, including Alltwalis Wind Farm in Carmarthenshire, as well as the Rheidol Hydropower Plant, where Statkraft is proud to manage all of its operational assets. Statkraft are also actively developing other projects in Wales such as the Swansea Greener Grid Park, and the Alleston Solar Farm in Pembrokeshire.

Statkraft has invested £1.4 billion in the UK’s renewable energy infrastructure and facilitated over 4.3 GW of new-build renewable energy generation through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Statkraft employs over 550 staff across our UK businesses, including 29 in Wales. We opened a new Cardiff office in 2023 which continues to grow.

About Eco2

Founded in 2002, Eco2 is an independent, Welsh-based renewable energy developer at the forefront of sustainable energy solutions. With a diverse portfolio and a combined installed capacity of 289 MW, Eco2 has created 1,169 jobs and contributes to saving 760,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.

Eco2’s notable developments include the 40MW Margam Bioenergy Plant, operational since 2019, directly employing 30 people and supporting 50 in fuel supply. Additionally, the 34.5 MW Mynydd y Betws Wind Farm, near Ammanford, has supported over 50 community-led initiatives through its community benefit fund.
